So who is this Julie Pryke person anyway?

I bet some of you really do want to know a bit more! Here I am – the person who’s been telling you all about my fund-raising effort for my project ‘Stand and Deliver’.

I’m retired, from Yorkshire, a Mum to 3 fab sons, and a ‘Nana’ to 4 gorgeous kids – Thomas & Fini in Germany and  Kian and Ayla in Birmingham.

I try to visit them all regularly and when I can’t I talk to them using Skype as I think it’s really important that they know all their absent family and not just our names.

I stated telling stories to Thomas (almost 12) when he was very tiny and it became a regular request from him by the time he was about 18 months old. It then spread to the other 3 as they came along.

I found that I could tell very quick ones – to satisfy the immediate need – by looking around me and spotting items I could bring to life – for example a wooden cat who became a pirate, a tree trunk which looked like the back of a dragon , it was so scaly. I would include the child in the adventure – as the hero/heroine of course . Then I started adding a magic version of me to help get us out of the scrapes I’d invented.

I can help you get started in the same way and would love to do so as I believe everyone can tell tales – but some people just don’t realise they have those skills yet, or lack the confidence  to do it.

PLEASE let me help you by following my blog on https://www.telltales2kids.com/

my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Telltales2kids/

or on my Leocrowd page http://www.leocrowd.com/projects/22/ – this page has a longer story ‘Joshua’s Birthday Surprise’ and a model you can make with/for your  family.  Have a look and come back tomorrow for more!
